Impressions of the Hexenstieg

Mountainbike tour along the Harzer Hexenstieg starting in Osterode am Harz and showing many ponds of the UNESCO World Heritage Oberharzer Wasserregal: From Osterode, via the 'Harzer Hexenstieg' (popular hiking track) it goes uphill to the 'Eselsplatz'. Above Lerbach there are several beautiful views over the small town and into the Harz foreland. When you arrive in the Oberharz, the route leaves the 'Harzer Hexenstieg' and leads past several ponds of the UNESCO World Heritage 'Oberharzer Wasserregal' through dark green forests. The route then leads downhill into the Sösetal valley and crosses the valley in the small town of Riefensbeek. Along the beautiful water reservoir Söse-Talsperre, the valley gradually goes back down to Osterode am Harz.
