Altarklippen route
Easy mountainbike route with views to the old town of Goslar and the nearby Altarklippe on a mountain near Goslar: The route climbs up to the Steinberg near Goslar, from where are wonderful views over the city of Goslar are possible. Then it goes with a beautiful view to the Grane dam up the Granetal valley to Hahnenklee. Once in the area of the 'Oberharz', the route leads along the mountain to the 'Altarklippe', which is a cliff. The panorama on the cliff extends far into the landscape in front of the Harz. After a descent, the route takes parts of a loop around the water reservoir Granetalsperre and then leads back through the old town of Goslar with a few smaller trails.

The route is planned so that it can be traveled all year round and in all weathers. Nevertheless, it can happen that due to occasional forestry work in the forest, paths are temporarily closed or have to be pushed in parts.
