Mountainbiking in Bad Sachsa
Bad Sachsa is a small town on the southern edge of the Harz mountains. Mountain slopes covered by deciduous and mixed forests lead from here to the mountain peaks of the southern edges of the Oberharz. Nearby are the Ravensberg, the Stöberhai, and the Grosser Knollen. From here you have views to the Harz foreland and the higher elevations of the Harz. In the region are mainly long deciduous forest trails with a lot of flow. The place offers suitable hotels for mountainbikers, but those who are looking for variety will be disappointed and should look for alternatives in the Harz. For most mountainbikers the diverse network of trails that characterize the Oberharz and the center of the Hochharz are difficult to reach on a day tour from Bad Sachsa. Nevertheless, Bad Sachsa is popular for mountainbikers due to the many overnight accommodations and is often booked as an alternative to Braunlage.
