Track Overview Two valley cycling-tour

Two valley cycling-tour

Mountainbike tour with start in Clausthal-Zellerfeld along several lakes, the Oberharzer Wasserregal and a waterfall: The route starts along lakes and mountain meadows and then leads along a small river into the first of two valleys down to the water reservoir Okertalsperre. When the water level is low, you can see the remains of the old Schulenberg buildings. After the dam was completed in 1956, the former mountain village was relocated from the valley to a nearby mountain. After an ascent, it goes along ponds and canals of the UNESCO World Heritage 'Oberharzer Wasserregal' to Hahnenklee. From here it goes into the second valley, which invites you to take a short break with a small waterfall. The second and last ascent of the tour leads back to Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
