Mountainbiking in Clausthal-Zellerfeld
Clausthal-Zellerfeld is the largest of the seven mining towns in the Oberharz and is located on a plateau in the Oberharz. The university town is a highly recommended place to start mountainbike tours in the Harz mountains. There is a large number of varied paths, trail descents in all directions and the possibility of flatter tours along the ditches and ponds of the 'Oberharzer Wasserregal', a world cultural heritage. The surrounding landscape is characterized by hilly mountain meadows and wooded mountains of the Oberharz and Hochharz. Mountainbikers will not only find many trails here in the forest, but also peace, quiet, restaurants in the forest and wide views. The town offers typical Harz restaurants, hotels suitable for mountainbikers and a large bike rental station.
